Nigeria Customs Service releases N7.61bn for retirees' pensions

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has disbursed N7.61 billion to nine pension fund administrators (PFAs) for payment to 4,237 retired customs officers. The breakdown presented at the briefing showed Access‑ARM Pension Managers covering 1,223 beneficiaries, Premium Pension 2,268, Leadway Pensions 403, TrustFund Pensions 156, FCMB Pensions 144, Veritas Glanvills Pensions 28, Norrenberger Pensions 11 and Fidelity Pension Managers four. Comptroller‑General Adewale Adeniyi announced the release during a dialogue with retirees, stressing the agency’s commitment to their welfare and urging continued constructive engagement. The meeting, attended by Deputy Comptroller‑General Tijjani Abe and other senior officials, also noted ongoing government efforts to review pension statutory provisions under the Pension Reform Act 2014.
