Nigeria Customs Service strengthens security agency partnerships

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is conducting a series of familiarization visits across different commands to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and intelligence sharing.

In the Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command, Acting Comptroller Deputy Comptroller Haliru Isah Abdullahi met with the Sokoto State Police Command. Abdullahi emphasized that synergy between the NCS and the Nigeria Police Force is essential for combating smuggling, safeguarding national security, and protecting lives and property. He requested continued cooperation in intelligence gathering and joint operations along borders.

Simultaneously, the Cross River/Calabar Free Trade Zone/Akwa Ibom Command, led by Acting Area Controller Nkiru Nwala, has engaged with several security institutions. Nwala held meetings with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Correctional Service, and the Department of State Services (DSS). These engagements aim to establish direct communication channels and coordinate responses to security threats to promote lawful trade and safeguard national interests.
