Nigeria Democratic Congress wins court order for INEC to use new logo
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize and upload the modified digital logo of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). The ruling, delivered by Justice J. O. Abdulmalik, follows a lawsuit filed by the party after INEC removed its constitutionally approved logo and reverted to an older association logo without explanation.
In compliance with the court order, INEC has updated its official portal to reflect the NDC’s revised visual identity—a blue background featuring a red ‘two-finger victory sign’—and its current national leadership. The updated roster identifies Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe as National Chairman, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu as National Secretary, John Odey as National Treasurer, Mainasara Abubakar Sani as National Financial Secretary, and Reuben Egwuaba as National Legal Adviser.
NDC National Leader Senator Henry Seriake Dickson urged party members and candidates to immediately transition to the approved logo on all campaign materials, including banners and posters, to ensure consistency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
