Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corp to Host IADI Africa Regional Meeting in Abuja 2026

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) will host the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) Africa Regional Committee Annual Meeting and Workshop from 20 to 23 July 2026 in Abuja. The four‑day event is themed “Safeguarding Stability: Public Awareness and Crisis Readiness for a Stronger Future.”

The programme will bring chief executives, directors and senior officials of deposit‑insurance institutions, financial regulators and other safety‑net stakeholders from across Africa and beyond. Sessions will focus on strengthening depositor confidence, public awareness, crisis preparedness, coordination, and tools to manage fintech innovations and cyber threats. It will include technical committee meetings, plenaries, round‑table discussions and simulation exercises. The opening will be declared by Central Bank Governor Olayemi Cardoso, with Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele delivering the keynote address. Dignitaries include IADI Secretary‑General Eva Hüpkes, IADI‑Africa Chair Julia Oyet, and NDIC Managing Director Thompson Oludare Sunday as chief host.
