Nigeria distributes starter packs to 18,510 trained artisans
The Nigerian Federal Government, through the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), has begun distributing starter packs to 18,510 artisans. These beneficiaries were part of the first batch of the Renewed Hope Vocational and Skills Training Programme.
The participants received training in various fields, including automobile technology, agricultural technology, carpentry, electrical installation, fashion design, and welding, among others. Training was conducted across more than 230 accredited centers in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
To ensure transparency and proper use of the equipment, Dr. Nsikak Okon, the National Programme Manager for N-POWER, stated that the agency is utilizing GPS technology and a dedicated portal to monitor beneficiary locations. A call center has also been established to provide support and address challenges faced by the participants.
