Nigeria expands professional golf presence with new tours and championships

Nigeria is expanding its role in the continental professional golf circuit through new tournament agreements and upcoming championships. Alpha-Bravo Integrated Services has secured a three-year sponsorship with the Sunshine Development Tour (SDT) to host the Alpha-Bravo Golf Classic from 2026 to 2028. The tournament will be held at the Lakowe Lakes Golf Club in Lagos, with the inaugural edition scheduled for November 18 to November 21, featuring a prize purse of $25,000.

Additionally, Nigeria is preparing to host the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) in Abuja. Organizers, including Grace Ihonvbere of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, intend to use the women’s team golf championship as a platform to promote Nigerian culture, tourism, and hospitality to visitors from across the continent.
