Nigeria expands trade ties with Cameroon and China
Nigeria is expanding its commercial reach through new trade initiatives in West Africa and with China. A delegation from the Nigerian Exporters Association is scheduled to visit Cameroon from October 18 to 24, 2026. Organized in coordination with Cameroon’s Chamber of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Forestry (CAPEF), the mission aims to foster partnerships in agricultural products, manufactured goods, and services, with specific interest in joint projects for transportation and industrial storage.
In a separate development, the China Commodities Expo Nigeria 2026 will take place in Lagos from November 3 to 5, 2026. The event features over 250 Chinese manufacturers aiming to connect with Nigerian and West African buyers. According to China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, bilateral trade between China and Nigeria reached approximately US$18 billion in the first half of 2026, a 35% year-on-year increase. The expo will cover diverse sectors, including agricultural machinery, solar energy, construction equipment, and automotive products.
