Nigeria faces coaching dilemma for upcoming AFCON qualifiers

Nigeria's football federation faces a logistical challenge as head coach Eric Chelle is currently assigned to both the senior Super Eagles and the U23 Olympic Eagles. Both squads have critical fixtures scheduled for 13 and 17 November.

The Super Eagles are set to face Tanzania in AFCON 2027 qualifiers, with matches in Uyo and Dar es Salaam. Simultaneously, the Olympic Eagles are scheduled to play the Democratic Republic of Congo in U23 AFCON qualifiers in Lubumbashi and Ikenne. Because the matches occur on the same days in different locations, Chelle cannot lead both teams.

While the senior team's qualification hopes are considered urgent—as they currently trail Guinea-Bissau by three points in Group L—the federation has yet to announce whether an assistant or caretaker will manage one of the squads.
