Nigeria First Lady Oluremi Tinubu inaugurates Benue roads, ICT centre and grants N100m to women

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu commissioned ten intra‑city road projects in Makurdi, Benue State, covering about 11.5 kilometres as part of the Phase I Urban Renewal Programme. She said the new roads “are pathways to economic growth” and will improve mobility, security and quality of life.

At the same event she opened the Lucy Zaiyol Alluor Community ICT Training Centre in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government, a facility built by the Renewed Hope Initiative with the National Information Technology Development Agency. Tinubu emphasized that “the knowledge of ICT serves as a significant tool for empowering communities, especially women.”

She also announced a N100 million grant to support 2,000 petty‑trading women – N50 million for 1,000 women in Vandeikya and another N50 million for 1,000 women in Makurdi and surrounding areas – to provide start‑up capital for their businesses.
