Coach Abdu Maikaba has announced a 23‑player squad for Nigeria’s U‑20 national team, the Flying Eagles, ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U20 Championship. The list mixes home‑based talent from the Nigeria Premier Football League with players stationed abroad in Spain, Croatia, and other European clubs, including Lawani Clinton (Sporting Lagos), Wahab Musa (FC Malaga) and Imrana Muhammad (Deportivo Alaves).

The team arrived in Côte d’Ivoire on Monday, landing in Abidjan before travelling by road to Yamoussoukro, where they are lodged at the Trio Corridor Hotel. The tournament, which also serves as a qualifier for the Africa U‑20 Cup of Nations, kicks off this weekend with a defending‑champion Nigeria facing Ghana at the Lycée Scientifique Stadium, followed by matches against Togo and Burkina Faso.

Nigeria won the previous edition by defeating Ghana 2‑1 in Lomé and will look to retain the title.
