Nigeria Football Federation mourns death of Coach Christopher Alor

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expressed deep sadness following the death of Coach Christopher Alor at the age of 75. Alor was a respected football tactician and a member of the technical crew for the Nigeria U-20 women’s national team, known as the Falconets.

Alor played a significant role in the team’s historic run during the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Germany. During that tournament, the Falconets secured draws against England and Mexico and a victory over Japan in the group stage. They progressed through a penalty shootout against the United States in the quarter-finals and defeated Colombia 1-0 in the semi-finals. The team ultimately earned a silver medal after a 2-0 loss to Germany in the final, marking the first time a Nigerian women’s national team reached a FIFA World Cup podium.

NFF Acting General Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, praised Alor’s contributions to Nigerian football, particularly his dedication to developing young players.
