Nigeria Football Federation postpones 2026 elective congress to Sept 27
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has moved its 2026 Elective Congress from September 26 to September 27, 2026. The meeting, which will elect members of the NFF Executive Committee for the next four years, will still be held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The one‑day postponement was approved during an extraordinary virtual General Assembly after NFF President Ibrahim Gusau said the change was needed because the Super Eagles’ opening qualifier for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations against Madagascar is set for September 25. Candidates involved with the national team would have difficulty travelling to Lafia the following morning, prompting the adjustment to ensure full participation.
