Dangote Refinery raises petrol price to N1,200 per litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased its petrol gantry price from N1,185 to N1,200 per litre, effective August 26, 2026. This marks the refinery’s second price hike in less than a week, following an increase from N1,165 to N1,185 on August 21. The refinery also raised its coastal delivery price from N1,562,265 to N1,582,380 per metric tonne. Customers have been instructed to return existing Authorisation to Collect documents for repricing.

Concurrently, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has raised its petrol pump price in Abuja from N1,250 to N1,270 per litre. This adjustment comes despite a decline in international crude oil benchmarks, including Brent and West Texas Intermediate (WTI).

Market analysts suggest these increases could drive retail pump prices toward an average of N1,250 per litre as marketers factor in higher depot costs and distribution expenses.
