Nigeria honors legal veteran Dr. Muhammed Alimi AbdulRazaq on 70th birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marked Dr. Muhammed Alimi AbdulRazaq’s 70th birthday, praising his decades‑long contributions to Nigeria’s legal profession, education and public administration. Tinubu highlighted AbdulRazaq’s role as the pioneer chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, where he helped lay the foundation for the country’s power‑sector reforms, and his founding of Bridge House College, a school that has educated generations of Nigerian youth.

AbdulRazaq’s career also spans senior positions in the corporate sector, including a non‑executive directorship at First Bank Holdings, chairmanship of the National Iron Ore Mining Company, and leadership of legal and human‑rights organisations. His academic background includes degrees from Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Hull, and he has authored scholarly works on human rights, international law and energy regulation.
