Nigeria hosts economic forums and social impact initiatives

Nigeria is hosting several key economic and social development events this week. The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) will hold an industrialisation and competitiveness forum on August 19 to discuss strengthening the manufacturing sector and improving economic productivity through policy and private-sector solutions.

Additionally, the 6th annual MSME & Startup Economic Summit is scheduled for August 20 in Lagos. The summit focuses on how digitalisation can unlock non-oil revenue and support growth within the micro, small, and medium enterprise ecosystem. In the financial sector, the Debt Management Office (DMO) has offered N425 billion in Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) bonds for subscription via auction.

In the social investment sector, the NNPC Limited/FIRST E&P Joint Venture has launched ‘Impact FIRST: Heritage’. This multi-year grant programme is designed to provide sustained funding and long-term partnership support to Nigerian non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that demonstrate high levels of accountability and social impact.
