Nigeria House Committee Issues Ultimatum to Agencies Over PFIPC Probe

The House of Representatives Ad‑Hoc Committee investigating the alleged establishment and operations of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) has issued a final 48‑hour ultimatum to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) that have failed to appear before it. Chairman Yusuf Gagdi warned that continued non‑compliance would trigger constitutional and legal sanctions, describing the refusals as a serious affront to the House’s oversight powers under Sections 88 and 89 of the 1999 Constitution.

The committee has summoned the Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Odumegwu‑Ojukwu and noted the withdrawal of Senior Advocate Femi Falana from representing the alleged director‑general, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi. Defaulting agencies are required to present the requested officials and documents at a scheduled hearing, which the committee said is the last opportunity to cooperate.
