Nigeria Immigration Service busts transnational human‑trafficking ring, arrests 12 foreigners
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) carried out coordinated operations in Lagos and Ogun states, dismantling a transnational human‑trafficking and fraudulent recruitment network linked to the QNET/IGNITE group.
The operation led to the arrest of 12 foreign nationals – a Burkinabe identified as the syndicate leader, eight Liberians and three Cameroonians – and the rescue of two Liberian victims. All suspects and the rescued victims were transferred to the NIS headquarters for further investigation. The service stressed its commitment to intelligence‑driven border management and warned the public to verify employment, business or migration offers before making payments or travelling abroad.
