Nigeria Immigration Service to establish Resource Centre for retirees

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced plans to establish a Resource Centre to utilize the expertise of its retirees for the continued development of the agency. During a meeting of the National Association of Retired Immigration Officers (NARIO) in Abuja, Comptroller-General Kemi Nandap emphasized that effective border management requires modern technology and professional conduct within the rule of law.

Nandap stated that the service is undergoing a technological transformation to improve border security, facilitate safe migration, and increase government revenue. She also pledged to prioritize addressing all outstanding liabilities related to retirees.

In a separate valedictory session at the NIS headquarters, the agency honored four senior officers—D. M. Bagari, A. Obianime, A. R. Sabo, and A. M. Halliday—for their 35 years of service. The ceremony recognized their contributions to the growth and transformation of the service.
