Nigeria implements grassroots empowerment programs in Jigawa and Cross River
Various empowerment initiatives are being implemented across Nigeria to support local livelihoods and align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In Jigawa State, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, facilitated a program in Hadejia providing cash grants, business tools, agricultural inputs, and educational support to women, youths, and farmers. The initiative includes the distribution of sewing machines, bakery equipment, and farming tools, alongside scholarships for students.
In Cross River State, Senator Eteng Williams provided 160 women in the Cross River Central senatorial district with N100,000 each as business support. The program, held in Ikom and Ugep, also included training in modern business practices and small-scale management techniques to help tackle poverty and unemployment in the district.
