Nigeria influencer Blessing CEO's fraud trial adjourned to July 20

The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos adjourned the trial of social‑media influencer Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, known as Blessing CEO, until 20 July. The defendant failed to appear on 15 July, with her counsel citing ill health and a pending medical report.

Blessing CEO faces two counts filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly obtaining N36 million by false pretence of leasing a six‑bedroom duplex in Lekki. The EFCC says the money was paid into two bank accounts – N25 million to a Guaranty Trust Bank account and N11 million to an Access Bank account – and that the property belongs to the landlord, Tunbosun Osobu. The defendant has pleaded not guilty and earlier refunds of N24 million were reported. Justice D.I. Dipeolu granted the adjournment while allowing settlement talks to continue without halting the criminal proceedings.
