Nigeria judicial system criticized amid VeryDarkMan controversy

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has become a focal point for criticism regarding the Nigerian judicial and policing systems. Lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi argued that the rise of such figures is a direct indictment of a failing legal system, suggesting that citizens now find more accessibility to justice through social media personalities than through formal courts and the police.

Concurrently, comedian and influencer DeeOne has accused Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu of preferential treatment. DeeOne alleged that the IGP is shielding VeryDarkMan from arrest after the activist reportedly refused to honor police invitations for questioning. This stands in contrast to the recent arrests of other public figures, such as Tacha and Blord, who faced police action for similar reasons.
