Nigeria Labour Congress condemns DSS over handling of activist Omoyele Sowore

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero denounced the Department of State Services (DSS) for a “rowdy, intimidating and humiliating” arrest of activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore inside the Federal High Court in Abuja. The NLC said the operatives’ conduct was unnecessary, embarrassing and a breach of the agency’s constitutional mandate, which should protect the state rather than individual political figures. Ajaero urged that matters of this nature be dealt with by the Ministry of Justice or the Attorney General, warning that the DSS’s over‑reach threatens democratic institutions.
