Nigeria Labour Congress leaders address economic policy and industry milestones
Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have addressed various national issues regarding economic management and industry milestones. NLC President Joe Ajaero criticized the current administration for lacking a comprehensive master plan for energy, food supply, and economic management. Speaking at a webinar marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, Ajaero argued that increasing wages without addressing the structural causes of inflation would not alleviate economic hardship. He further noted a lack of national debate on major economic issues compared to previous eras.
Separately, NLC Deputy President Adewale Adeyanju congratulated the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) on its 72nd anniversary. Adeyanju commended the association for its longevity and its role in maintaining order within the Nigerian clearing and forwarding sector, acknowledging its leadership through various economic challenges.
