Nigeria leaders call for peace during Eid-el-Maulud celebrations

During the Eid-el-Maulud celebrations, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima issued messages calling for national peace and introspection. President Tinubu urged the Muslim community to follow the virtues of Prophet Muhammad, specifically emphasizing devotion, tolerance, and humility, while calling for prayers to combat insecurity in various parts of the country.

In Zamfara State, approximately 5,000 Quranic reciters gathered in Gusau to offer prayers for the success of the Tinubu–Shettima administration. Organized by the United Youth Scholars for Preaching and Guidance, the event also served as a show of support for Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, amid growing political mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
