Nigeria leaders call for unity and religious tolerance during Easter

Various Nigerian political leaders have issued messages calling for national unity, religious tolerance, and collective action against insecurity during the Easter celebrations.

Northern Governors Forum Chairman Simon Bako Lalong urged citizens to set aside differences in faith, politics, and ethnicity to combat criminal threats. Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum highlighted the successful peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in his state despite attempts to incite division.

In Abuja, former Senate President David Mark emphasized the need for religious tolerance to achieve national development, while former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu called for Nigerians to sacrifice narrow interests for the collective good. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu encouraged citizens to live in harmony with believers of other faiths, and Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku urged the practice of peace and forgiveness.
