Nigeria names Junior Yellow Greens squad for ICC U‑19 Africa qualifier

The Nigeria Cricket Federation announced a 14‑player Junior Yellow Greens squad to compete in the ICC U‑19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa Qualifier Division 2 in Rwanda from 9‑15 August. Head coach Daniel Gim highlighted a multi‑phase selection process that began with a training camp in Abuja, continued with a second camp there, and concluded with a demanding final camp in Lagos where the squad was finalized. The team, captained by Rahmon Ali, will face Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda, Mozambique and Sierra Leone, seeking promotion to Division 1 and a route to the U‑19 World Cup.

Gim stressed that players were assessed on technical ability, discipline, attitude and capacity to perform under increasing competition. The federation aims to build a balanced side capable of advancing beyond the qualification tournament and eventually earning a spot at the global U‑19 World Cup.
