Nigeria: Omokri denies Tinubu FBI criminal record claims

Reno Omokri, Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Mexico, has addressed allegations regarding President Bola Tinubu’s records with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Omokri stated that the President does not have a criminal record with the FBI, asserting that the information held by the agency consists of standard biographical data such as DNA, blood group, and fingerprints. He claimed that reports suggesting the existence of criminal records are being promoted by opposition politicians to mislead the public.

In separate news, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) reported that the Federal Government is working to assist hundreds of Nigerians currently held in various prisons across India. The Commission noted that the Nigerian High Commission in India is actively attending to these cases.
