Nigeria PDP endorses governorship hopefuls in Taraba and Kaduna for 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has finalized its governorship candidates for the 2027 elections in two northern states. In Taraba State, former senator Emmanuel Bwacha was affirmed as the party’s sole candidate at an affirmation exercise in Jalingo. Bwacha warned of deep‑rooted corruption, citing that more than N800 billion borrowed since the current administration took office has not produced visible projects despite substantial federal allocations.

In Kaduna State, the PDP primary on Sunday saw Hon. Usman Bawa ABG win the ticket with 124,170 votes, defeating Haruna Kajuru AG. ABG highlighted the state’s escalating insecurity, banditry and economic distress, pledging to strengthen community policing, improve intelligence, and provide logistics to security agencies. He also promised investments in agriculture, education, health facilities and infrastructure, emphasizing unity and inclusive governance.
