Nigeria Police Airwing Deploys Aircraft to Ogun State

Inspector General of Police Tunji Disu deployed an operational police aircraft to Ogun State after Governor Dapo Abiodun requested the asset to support Operation Kòsàyè, a joint security effort aimed at curbing kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes in forested and border communities. The aircraft is intended to improve surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid response capabilities for state and federal security agencies.

In a separate ceremony, IGP Disu honored 14 pilots and back‑gunners of the Nigeria Police Airwing for distinguished conduct during anti‑banditry and counter‑insurgency operations in the north‑west and north‑central regions. Commissioner of Police Airwing Martin Nwogoh presented letters of commendation, highlighted the officers' bravery under fire, and promoted five personnel to Deputy Superintendent of Police, noting their professional qualifications and aviation certifications.
