Nigeria police arrest 15 cult-linked kidnappers in Imo and Kwara states
The Imo State Police Command announced the arrest of 12 suspects linked to kidnapping, cultism and murder after intelligence‑led raids that rescued three abducted passengers and recovered firearms, vehicles and other items. The operation targeted members of the Senior Vikings Confraternity and recovered an AK‑47, pistols, ammunition and two unregistered vehicles.
Separately, the Kwara State Police Command apprehended three alleged members of the Eiye Confraternity for the abduction and murder of a Kwara State Polytechnic student. The suspects confessed to the killing and police continue to hunt nine other gang members. Both commands emphasised ongoing collaboration with security agencies and community vigilantes to dismantle the criminal networks.
