Nigeria police arrest suspects with weapons in Akwa Ibom and Nasarawa

In Nasarawa state, police detained Abubakar Abdullahi during a routine patrol, recovering 174 rounds of live 7.62 mm AK‑47 ammunition hidden on his person. Investigators are seeking the source and intended destination of the ammunition, while the state police commissioner affirmed a commitment to combating illegal arms.
Both incidents are part of intensified police operations targeting illegal firearms and ammunition across the two states.
