Nigeria Police Arrest Two Suspects in Child Trafficking and Visa Fraud Cases

Police in Jigawa State arrested a 25‑year‑old nursing officer, Sadik Sale Yahaya, and a 20‑year‑old accomplice, Khadija Aliyu, after a child vanished from the paediatric ward of Babura General Hospital. Investigators said the pair planned to sell the boy for about 2 million naira and transport him to an orphanage in Kaduna State. The child was rescued, placed in protective custody and will be reunited with his family. Both suspects remain in police custody while inquiries continue.

In Ondo State, police detained 33‑year‑old Adejoke Ayomide on accusations of defrauding more than 90 visa‑seeking individuals of roughly N42.3 million. Ayomide allegedly posed as a travel consultant promising visas to Spain, Portugal and France, receiving the funds through an OPay account. She has been taken into custody, provided statements and is awaiting further investigation and possible charges.
