Ogun State police arrest three suspects in murder of former OGTV broadcaster Olakitan Oyesiku
The Ogun State Police Command announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with the double homicide of retired OGTV broadcaster Olakitan Oyesiku and her security guard Pelumi Adetayo. The victims were discovered dead at Oyesiku’s Owode‑Egba residence on 21 June 2026. Investigators recovered a handwritten note at the scene and traced the stolen Lexus RX 330, which was recovered on 22 June.
The principal suspect, 22‑year‑old former security guard Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, was detained on 24 June at a construction site in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta. Two accomplices – 27‑year‑old Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola and 36‑year‑old Sobu Obafunsho – were subsequently arrested. During interrogation Philip confessed that the attack was intended to “teach her a lesson” because of grievances from his period working for Oyesiku. Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni said the arrests resulted from intelligence‑driven operations, forensic analysis of the note and technical vehicle tracking. All three suspects remain in police custody pending prosecution.
