Nigeria Police Force completes UN counter‑terrorism training in Morocco

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) finished a Specialized Counter‑Terrorism Investigations Train‑the‑Trainer Programme held from 13 to 31 July 2026 in Rabat, Morocco. The course was organised by the United Nations Office of Counter‑Terrorism (UNOCT) in partnership with Al Akhawayn University and brought together law‑enforcement officers from Nigeria, Kenya and Burkina Faso. A ten‑member Nigerian delegation, led by ACP Favour Fadawa of the Nigeria Police Academy, received instruction on identifying terrorist networks, disrupting criminal structures, preserving admissible evidence and applying intelligence‑led investigative techniques.

Inspector‑General of Police Olatunji Disu said the training is vital for national and global security and directed Deputy Inspector‑General Isyaku Mohammed and the Academy commandant to institutionalise the new skills across the force. The NPF also noted progress on an Executive Master’s Programme at the Nigeria Police Academy and thanked UNOCT, Al Akhawayn University and the Moroccan government for their support.
