Nigeria Police Force pays insurance benefits to families of fallen officers
The Nigeria Police Force has distributed Group Life Assurance benefits to the families of deceased officers in Cross River and Ekiti states.
In Cross River State, the Police Command presented 17 cheques totaling approximately N13.75 million to the families of fallen personnel. The presentation was conducted at the Command Headquarters in Calabar on behalf of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu. Commissioner of Police Ajo Geoffrey Ordue noted that while the funds cannot replace lost lives, they are intended to provide meaningful support to bereaved families.
In Ekiti State, Commissioner of Police Michael Falade presented insurance benefit cheques worth approximately N9.8 million to beneficiaries of officers who died in the line of duty. Falade stated that the gesture reflects the Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, urging beneficiaries to use the funds prudently for the education and welfare of the deceased officers' children.
