Nigeria Police IGP meets Burna Boy and INTERPOL chief

Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has engaged in high-level meetings aimed at improving domestic community relations and international security cooperation.

In Lagos, Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy met with Disu at the Police House to discuss how the creative industry can help bridge the gap between the police and young Nigerians. Burna Boy expressed a willingness to use his platform to improve the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Simultaneously, Disu traveled to Lyon, France, for his maiden official visit to the INTERPOL General Secretariat. Meeting with INTERPOL Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza, Disu discussed enhancing cooperation to combat transnational crimes, including cybercrime, terrorism, financial crime, and organized crime. The discussions focused on intelligence sharing, fugitive tracking, and the effective use of INTERPOL databases to disrupt criminal networks operating across borders.
