Nigeria police investigate two separate fatal domestic violence incidents

Two separate fatal domestic violence incidents have been reported in Nigeria.

In Abia State, a woman identified as Innocent Serah has been arrested following the alleged stabbing death of her husband, Innocent Nwaọjị. The incident reportedly occurred in Umuokereke Ngwa while the victim was asleep, approximately eight months after their wedding. Local community members stated there were no known prior disagreements between the couple. The Abia State Police are currently investigating the circumstances.

In Niger State, a woman named Amina Aliyu was arrested for the alleged murder of her co-wife, Fatima Aliyu, in Minna. Reports indicate that Amina Aliyu beat the victim and set her ablaze inside a residence. The Niger State Police Command confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is underway to conclude before the suspect is charged in court.
