Nigeria Police promotes senior officers and redeploys ten assistant inspectors‑general

Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 2, Olorundare Moshood Jimoh, presided over a promotion ceremony at the MD Abubakar Hall in Lagos. Ten senior officers were elevated: Deputy Commissioners Mary Ayim Doghudje, Deborah Omoruan Benard, Jaiyeoba Idowu Joseph and Lot Garba Lantoh; Assistant Commissioners Gafar Ajayi Adeyanju, Ajoke Risikat Akande, Olanrewaju Victor Kalejaiye, Ellah Jeffrey and Chukwu Thomas; and Superintendent Okusi Abimbola. The promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission.

In a separate move, Inspector‑General of Police Tunji Disu issued a wireless directive redeploying ten assistant inspectors‑general to strategic commands and departments nationwide. Deployments include Polycarp Emeka Nwonyi to Zone 9 (Umuahia), Obono Nnaghe Itam to the Police Staff College in Jos, Bassey Samuel Ewa to Zone 15 (Maiduguri), Osagie John Agans‑Irabor to Zone 3 (Yola), Monday Agbonika to Zone 5 (Benin), Daniel Edobor Iyamah to the Department of Operations in Abuja, Isah Danladi Nda to the Criminal Investigation Annex in Kaduna, Akaniyene Ifebem Ezima to the National Cybercrime Centre, Bello Rashid Afegbua to Zone 6 (Calabar) and Betty Enekpen Otimenyin to Zone 8 (Lokoja). The redeployments take immediate effect and require updates to personnel records.
