Nigeria police strengthen inter‑state patrols and media partnership

Police commissioners from Kogi and Benue states led a joint "Handshake Patrol" along their shared border in Ankpa, pledging coordinated patrols, joint operations and intelligence sharing to curb crime in the corridor.

In Oyo state, Commissioner of Police Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga urged the media to work closely with police, calling for investigative journalism and the avoidance of unverified reporting to combat misinformation and improve public safety.
