APC Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda warns appointees to campaign or resign
All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda defended President Bola Tinubu against opposition claims that the president is too tired to lead, citing Tinubu’s daily presence in the presidential office from morning until night. Yilwatda also rejected accusations that the APC had a role in former opposition leader Peter Obi’s multiple party switches, stating the ruling party did not influence Obi’s moves. He warned that political appointees in Tinubu’s administration must actively mobilise votes for the APC or step down, describing technocratic excuses as unacceptable. The chairman announced a nationwide grassroots mobilisation drive and a mega rally in Abuja involving more than 685 APC local‑government chairmen to endorse Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election. APC officials, including Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga, have also faced criticism for posting unverified accusations against Obi, which were later deleted.
