Nigeria President Tinubu touts informal sector's role and health sector reforms

President Bola Tinubu inaugurated new access roads, electricity poles and water pipes in Abuja’s Wasa District, describing the informal sector as the true engine of Nigeria’s economy and a driver of internally generated revenue.

He also highlighted the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative launched in December 2023 under the Renewed Hope Agenda. Coordinated by Health Minister Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, the reform has organised health insurance for over six million people, revitalised more than 3,100 primary health centres and strengthened financing, turning the health system into a growing investment‑attractive sector.
