Nigeria pursues technological partnerships with Taiwan and China
Nigeria is pursuing international partnerships to modernize its agricultural and energy sectors. In the agricultural sector, Nigerian and Taiwanese organizations are collaborating to apply Taiwanese expertise to Nigeria’s vegetable industry. The partnership, discussed at the Taiwan-Nigeria VegConnect Forum, focuses on improving seed systems, irrigation, digital farming, and post-harvest handling to meet the needs of a growing population.
Simultaneously, Nigeria is engaging with Chinese oil and gas equipment manufacturers to bolster local manufacturing and technology transfer. The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) recently met with over 100 Chinese original equipment manufacturers in Chengdu to discuss supply-chain integration and long-term industrial partnerships aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s domestic energy supply chains.
