Nigeria Revenue Service implements tax reforms to support businesses

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) is implementing tax reforms aimed at supporting enterprises and driving economic growth. During a town hall meeting in Kano focused on medium and emerging taxpayers, NRS leadership outlined a strategy to modernize tax administration through digital solutions, improved taxpayer education, and simplified processes.

Executive Chairman Dr. Zacch Adedeji, represented by Group Director of Government Business Wande Akinpelu, emphasized that the goal is to create a system that is transparent, predictable, and easy to comply with. The reforms, including the Rev360 initiative and e-invoicing, are designed to streamline registration, filing, and payment. The NRS stated that effective administration requires building trust and listening to taxpayer experiences rather than relying solely on enforcement.
