Nigeria revises national youth employment plan for 2025-2030
Authorities in Abuja are focusing on private sector engagement to address youth employment challenges in Nigeria. A national consultation was held to revise the National Integrated Youth Employment Action Plan (NIYEAP) for the 2025-2030 period.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between education and the labor market, moving beyond mere diagnosis toward concrete training and employer involvement. The federal Ministry of Youth Development has prioritized professional integration as a central pillar of its strategy.
Technical support for these efforts is being provided by the SEESIN project, a joint initiative between the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the GIZ SKYE II program. This support is expected to continue in Abuja until March 2026, assisting in the implementation of a revised national employment policy that addresses youth unemployment, informality, and regional disparities.
