Nigeria Revives Joint Commissions with Senegal and Portugal

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye, and Senegalese Foreign Affairs Minister Cheikh Niang pledged at the ECOWAS Mid‑Year Summit in Freetown to resuscitate their Joint Commission, aiming to deepen collaboration on trade, commerce and other bilateral and multilateral issues.

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu‑Ojukwu, met Portugal’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Paulo Rangel, on the sidelines of the EurAfrican Forum. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, renewable energy, maritime security, digital technology, agriculture, education and defence, and announced plans to create a NigeriaPortugal Joint Commission, a Bilateral Air Services Agreement and a Double Taxation Agreement.
