Nigeria road accidents kill six in Kogi and three in Anambra
Six people died after a gas‑laden truck exploded at an Army checkpoint on the Abuja‑Lokoja Federal Highway in Kogi State. The blast ignited a fire that spread to three other trucks; the driver, his assistant and the drivers of the other trucks were killed. Victims were taken to General Hospital in Abaji while authorities cleared the highway.
In Anambra State, a Mercedes‑Benz commercial truck overturned and caught fire near St. Jude Catholic Church in Adazi‑Ani, killing three men and injuring four others. The Federal Road Safety Corps said a mechanical failure caused the driver to lose control, leading to the crash and fire.
