Nigeria Rugby Football Federation launches technical training in Abuja
The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has launched a technical development programme in Abuja to enhance the capacity of coaches, referees, and medical personnel. Held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, the seminar includes Level 1 and Level 2 coaching and match officiating courses, as well as training in first aid, intensive care in rugby, and safeguarding essentials.
NRFF President Ademola Aré emphasized that developing certified officials is critical for the sport's growth and for Nigeria's ability to participate in international competitions. He noted that while the country possesses Level 3 certified personnel, increasing the number of qualified officials across all levels is essential for a strong foundation. The initiative is supported by the National Sports Commission (NSC) and aligns with global rugby standards to improve player welfare and technical expertise.
