Nigeria SDP candidates push campaign milestones and defend state police proposal

Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Hon. Prince Gowon Enenche confirmed his nomination for the Ankpa‑Omala‑Olamaboro House of Representatives seat after INEC validated his candidacy. He marked the week with community outreach, including the flag‑off of the reconstruction of the Angwa‑Ógébé Primary Healthcare Centre in Ankpa, Kogi State.

SDP presidential hopeful Prince Adewole Adebayo, speaking on Channels Television, defended the push for state police in Nigeria. He argued that opposition to governors controlling state police is inconsistent with the federal government's control of the Nigeria Police Force, and called for a constitutional framework that allows federal, state and local police services to operate within defined boundaries.

Both politicians stressed the need for accountable governance and highlighted the SDP’s broader agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
