Nigeria security agencies boost cooperation for 2027 elections
Nigerian security agencies are intensifying collaboration to prepare for the 2027 general elections. Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu has called for enhanced intelligence sharing and operational synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Air Force. This partnership aims to combine ground-level policing with aerial surveillance and reconnaissance to provide comprehensive security coverage across the country.
At the state level, Abia State Commissioner of Police Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi has strengthened ties with the Department of State Services (DSS). Following a meeting with State Director of Security Kingsley I. K. Anuforo, the agencies discussed deepening cooperation in threat analysis, intelligence gathering, and coordinated security operations. These efforts include the Community Safety Partnership Initiative and capacity-building programs focused on emotional intelligence and threat analysis to ensure public safety and professionalism ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
