Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps boosts operations in Rivers and Oyo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has undertaken several initiatives to enhance operational capacity and personnel welfare across different states.

In Rivers State, the NSCDC Command conducted a show of force in Port Harcourt to demonstrate readiness to protect lives and critical national assets. Led by State Commandant Dennis Reuben, the exercise involved personnel in various tactical uniforms marching through major streets. The display was intended to warn criminal elements and vandals that the state is no longer a safe haven for illegal activities, while reassuring the public of the Corps' ability to respond to security threats.

In Oyo State, the NSCDC Command in Ibadan distributed 15 motorcycles to selected personnel to improve mobility and productivity. The motorcycles were provided through the NSCDC Ibadan Staff Cooperative Society. State Commandant Augustine Padonu emphasized that improved welfare should lead to greater discipline and effective service delivery, noting that the initiative aims to address transportation challenges faced by officers during their duties.
